Smooth Nuneaton loves to boast about how our IPL Photo-rejuvenation can treat a wide variety of skin problems. It can be used to remove red spots or diffuse redness and can help with acne or rosacea. IPL treatments can also help to smooth uneven skin texture, close large pores, and eliminate wrinkles by stimulating collagen growth.
An Initial consultation & patch test is required for this treatment book in below for a time that will suit you.
What do I need to know about before and after the treatment?
Before treatment, it is important that you avoid sun exposure for at least 2-4 weeks prior to treatment, depending on skin tone. You should also use a good quality sunscreen that protects from both UVA & UVB exposure everyday. It’s also important to use Tyrosinase inhibitor product which helps to stop further production of excess pigmentation.
Immediately following treatment, brown spots will start to darken and your skin may appear slightly red. The treated area may be mildly swollen. This typically lasts a few hours and possibly a day or longer. Make-up can be applied to cover the redness. Your skin will shed after an IPL treatment. This is normal and intended. It is important to follow the skin care regime given to you by your therapist to ensure the shortest healing time and the best appearance. Shedding will finish between one to two weeks after an IPL treatment, and for facial treatment it is advised that you follow the skin care regime advised by your therapist and to protect your skin from the sun. Multiple treatments may be needed to achieve your intended result dependent on the nature and severity of the pigmentation.
When will I see results?
Within one to three weeks, the darkened spots will flake off and fade.
Will the spots reappear over time?
New brown spots may appear with new sun damage; however they too can be treated. Remember to always apply broad-spectrum sunscreen when outdoors to minimise sun damage and the appearance of new sun spots and freckle.
